About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist to manage direct material purchasing for their operations in Brighton . This vital role focuses on ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of raw materials and components essential for production. You will be responsible for supplier selection, negotiation, and maintaining robust supply chains to meet manufacturing demands. This is a key position within the operations team, directly impacting product availability and cost of goods sold.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for direct materials, including raw materials and components.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability criteria.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable payment terms for purchasing .
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and inventory teams to forecast material needs and ensure supply continuity.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively address any supply chain disruptions or quality issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in procurement, with a specific focus on direct materials purchasing.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and procurement software.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
