About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Procurement Specialist to focus on indirect spend categories within their Nottingham office. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that support the company's operations, such as office supplies, IT equipment, and professional services. You will manage the day-to-day procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, processing orders, and maintaining supplier relationships. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong communication skills, contributing to a well-managed and value-driven procurement function within a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the sourcing and procurement of various indirect goods and services.
- Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and conduct basic price comparisons.
- Maintain organized records of all procurement activities and supplier interactions.
- Liaise with internal departments to understand their needs and ensure timely fulfillment of requests.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Good understanding of the procurement process and best practices for indirect spend.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured office environment.
