About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic purchasing team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is instrumental in managing day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services while adhering to budget constraints and quality standards. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and identify the best sourcing solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the sourcing and purchasing of various goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and pricing.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, monitor order status, and resolve any discrepancies or delivery issues.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define procurement requirements and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions and supplier information.
• Assist in the evaluation of supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing department.

Requirements

• Experience in a purchasing or procurement support role, with a good understanding of procurement processes.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
• Relevant certifications or a degree in a business-related field are advantageous.
