Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their procurement department in Manchester . This role will support the procurement team in managing day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with policies, and contributing to cost-saving initiatives. You will be instrumental in sourcing high-quality goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate procurement records. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the sourcing and procurement of various goods and services, ensuring value for money and adherence to quality standards.
• Process purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices accurately and efficiently using procurement systems.
• Liaise with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery schedules, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Support contract management activities, including the review and maintenance of supplier agreements.
• Conduct research on potential new suppliers and gather market intelligence to inform procurement decisions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
