Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join their essential sourcing team in Reading . This role is critical for managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and services for their extensive FMCG product range. You will be responsible for identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring quality, and managing supplier relationships to support the company's production needs. This is a key opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations within a leading FMCG company, ensuring a stable and high-quality supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories of raw materials and packaging.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and ethical sourcing practices.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize value.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular reviews, and address any quality or delivery issues.
• Collaborate with internal departments (R&D, Operations, Finance) to forecast demand and ensure timely supply.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain dynamics and market trends for raw materials.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
