About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join their purchasing department based in Birmingham . This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring efficient sourcing of materials and services while adhering to company policies and budgets. You will play a key part in maintaining robust supplier relationships and contributing to the overall efficiency of the procurement process . Key Responsibilities

• Execute the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services according to established procedures and quality standards.
• Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
• Assist in the preparation of tenders and quotation requests, evaluating supplier responses.
• Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts and agreements.
• Support senior procurement staff with ad-hoc projects and data analysis related to purchasing .

Requirements

• Proven experience (2-3 years) in a procurement, purchasing, or related administrative role.
• Familiarity with the procurement lifecycle and standard purchasing practices.
• Proficiency in using procurement software or ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier interaction.
• A degree or relevant professional qualification in Business or a related field is advantageous.
