Product Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Product Development Engineer to join their dynamic team in Liverpool . This role focuses on bringing new products from concept to market, involving the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems. You will work closely with marketing, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet customer needs and are commercially viable. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mechanical products and improve existing ones, using CAD software .
• Create detailed design documentation, including drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) , and specifications.
• Build and test prototypes, documenting results and making design iterations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
• Investigate new technologies and materials to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
• Support manufacturing engineers in scaling up production.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in product development and mechanical design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding and CNC machining.
• Experience with prototyping techniques and testing methodologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
