About the Role
Our client, a leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an innovative and skilled Product Development Scientist to join their R&D team in Bristol . This role is critical for the creation and refinement of new and existing FMCG products , ensuring they meet high standards of quality, safety, and consumer appeal. You will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept generation to final product launch, working in state-of-the-art laboratories. This is a prime opportunity for a scientific mind passionate about food science, chemistry, or related fields to contribute to market-leading consumer products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development activities to create innovative new FMCG product formulations .
- Optimize existing product formulations for cost, performance, and sensory attributes.
- Perform laboratory testing, shelf-life studies, and sensory evaluations.
- Collaborate with marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product development and scale-up.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant food safety regulations and quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in product development, preferably within the FMCG industry (e.g., food, beverages, personal care).
- Strong understanding of formulation science, ingredient functionality, and processing techniques.
- Excellent laboratory skills and experience with analytical instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects concurrently.
