About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product Development Scientist to join their R&D team in Liverpool , focusing on new product creation within the FMCG sector. You will be instrumental in the formulation, testing, and scaling-up of new products, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and consumer preference standards. This role involves working collaboratively in a laboratory environment and liaising with cross-functional teams, including marketing and production, to bring exciting new products from concept to market. It's a fantastic opportunity for a scientifically minded individual eager to contribute to the innovation pipeline of a leading FMCG company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and formulation of new FMCG products from concept to commercialization.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, pilot trials, and sensory evaluations to optimize product performance and quality.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to understand consumer needs and translate them into product specifications.
- Work with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure successful scale-up and production of new products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during product development and production.
Requirements
- A degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in product development , preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of formulation science, analytical techniques, and product testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
