About the Role
Our client, a progressive force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an innovative and skilled Product Development Scientist to join their research and development team based in Brighton . This role is crucial for creating new and improving existing consumer products, ensuring they meet market demands for quality, safety, and efficacy. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and formulation to testing and scaling up for production. This is a hands-on laboratory role for a scientifically minded individual passionate about bringing new ideas to life within the competitive FMCG landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development activities to create new FMCG products and improve existing formulations.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and document findings thoroughly for new product development projects.
- Develop innovative product concepts aligned with market trends, consumer needs, and business objectives.
- Scale up laboratory formulations to pilot and production levels, ensuring reproducibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and quality assurance, throughout the product development process.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in product development , preferably within the FMCG industry .
- Strong understanding of formulation science, laboratory techniques, and experimental design.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for consumer products is desirable.
