About the Role

Our client is recruiting for a talented Product Development Scientist to join their innovative research and development team, working remotely from Manchester . This role is essential for driving the creation of new and improved FMCG products, focusing on formulation, testing, and scale-up. The position requires a strong scientific background and a passion for bringing new concepts from the lab to the marketplace in a fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and formulate new FMCG products according to project briefs, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, performance testing, and sensory evaluations to assess product viability and optimize formulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during product development and scale-up processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, procurement, and manufacturing, to ensure successful product launches.
• Stay abreast of scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and competitor activities within the FMCG product development space.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in product development, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Proficiency in formulation science, analytical techniques, and experimental design.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to research and documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective collaboration in a remote environment.
