About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Product Development Scientist to join their FMCG research and development team. This is a fully remote position focused on the creation and improvement of new and existing consumer products. You will play a crucial role in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and formulation to testing and launch support. This role demands a blend of scientific expertise and commercial awareness, with the ability to translate consumer needs into tangible product solutions within the fast-moving consumer goods market. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated scientist who thrives in a remote research environment and is passionate about product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation and development of new consumer product prototypes, ensuring they meet defined performance and quality standards.
- Conduct rigorous laboratory testing and analysis to evaluate product stability, efficacy, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing, throughout the product development process.
- Research emerging ingredients, technologies, and market trends to identify opportunities for product innovation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges that arise during product development and scale-up.
- Document research findings, experimental procedures, and product specifications accurately.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in product development or R&D, preferably in the FMCG or related sector.
- Strong scientific background with expertise in chemistry, food science, or a relevant discipline.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, product formulation, and experimental design.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation and data interpretation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Must be comfortable and effective working autonomously in a fully remote capacity.
