About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Product Development Technologist to join their R&D team in Bristol , contributing to their extensive FMCG product range. This role involves the hands-on development of new food products and the improvement of existing formulations, ensuring they meet consumer needs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and quality assurance, to bring exciting new products from concept to launch. This is a hands-on role for a passionate food technologist looking to make a tangible impact in a leading industry player.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and formulate new FMCG products from concept to shelf, conducting laboratory-scale trials and pilot plant runs.
• Optimize existing product formulations to improve quality, reduce costs, or enhance nutritional profiles.
• Conduct sensory evaluation and shelf-life testing to ensure product quality and stability.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to understand consumer trends and translate them into product innovation opportunities.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 2-3 years of experience in product development within the FMCG food industry.
• Practical knowledge of food processing techniques, ingredient functionality, and formulation development.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
