Job Description
As our merchant proposition continues to evolve, we're looking for a Senior Product Manager to help define what great merchant experiences look like. This is a role with genuine strategic ownership, where you'll partner closely with Engineering, Commercial and Product Marketing to shape product direction, influence investment decisions and become the voice of our merchants across the business. If you enjoy solving complex B2B problems, balancing commercial opportunities with technical delivery and building products that create meaningful business impact, we'd love to hear from you.
A Day in the Life
- Define and evolve the product strategy for Merchant Experience, balancing immediate commercial opportunities with long-term platform investment.
- Build trusted relationships with merchants to understand their challenges, identify unmet needs and turn customer insight into product direction.
- Partner closely with Commercial teams to support merchant growth, improve onboarding and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Work alongside Engineering to design scalable solutions across APIs, integrations and ecommerce platforms.
- Make evidence-based prioritisation decisions using customer insight, product metrics and commercial performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Commercial, Risk, Operations and Product Marketing to align on product priorities.
- Improve how merchant feedback is captured, prioritised and translated into product outcomes.
- Represent the voice of the merchant across the organisation, ensuring customer needs remain central to strategic decision making.
- Balance technical investment with commercial opportunities, making thoughtful trade-offs that deliver long‑term value.
- Help shape the future of Zopa for Business as our B2B proposition continues to grow.
You’ll likely bring many of the following:
- Strong experience owning and delivering B2B digital products.
- A track record of working closely with merchants, partners or business customers rather than purely consumer‑facing products.
- Strong commercial judgement and an ability to balance customer value with business outcomes.
- Confidence making complex prioritisation decisions using data, insight and product instinct.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing Engineering, Commercial and senior leadership teams.
- Technical fluency that enables you to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge priorities constructively when supported by evidence.
- Experience working within Agile product teams.
- A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
- Experience working within regulated or technically complex industries.
Added Bonus It would also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience within Payments, Banking, FinTech or Credit.
- Knowledge of FCA expectations, KYB requirements or payment scheme rules.
- Experience using AI tools throughout the product lifecycle for research, prototyping or documentation.
- Experience working on APIs, integrations or platform products.
We value face‑to‑face collaboration and a good work‑life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our Manchester office 2-3 days a week. (WeWork, Dalton Place, 29 John Dalton Street, M2 6WF) Please note this office is dog friendly so you might see some furry friends about! You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year!
- Subject to having the right to work in the country of choice
Diversity Statement
Zopa is proud to offer a workplace free from discrimination. Diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to better products for our customers and a unique company culture for our people. We are made up of nearly 50 nationalities, have a DE&I forum made up of Zopians wanting to make a difference and we are proud of our culture where everyone can bring their full self to work. Our approach to DE&I is reflected in our hiring process so please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments.
Our approach to AI in interviews
At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out - it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030, we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs. Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process. Behavioural and competency-based interviews: please don't use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you - your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other.
