Production Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on Production Chemical Engineer to oversee and optimize day-to-day operations at their facility in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable production of chemical products, troubleshooting operational issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to maintain plant performance and achieve production targets, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance, identify deviations from target, and implement corrective actions to maintain production efficiency.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for production upsets and equipment failures, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Optimize process parameters to maximize yield, minimize waste, and reduce energy consumption.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure effective preventative maintenance programs are in place.
• Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of production processes and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role within the chemical industry.
• Solid understanding of chemical plant operations, unit operations, and process control.
• Experience with process troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
