Production Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a practical and detail-oriented Production Chemical Engineer to join their operational team in Wolverhampton . This role is focused on ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable day-to-day running of chemical production processes. You will be responsible for monitoring plant performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Working closely with plant operators and maintenance staff, you will contribute directly to the success of the manufacturing operations in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor production processes, analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
• Implement process modifications and optimizations to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure all operations adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment is well-maintained and reliable.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
• Understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with process control systems and data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
