About the Role
Our client is recruiting for a skilled Production Chemist to join their operational team in Wolverhampton . This role is vital for monitoring and controlling the chemical aspects of oil and gas production processes, ensuring optimal performance and product quality. You will be responsible for analyzing production fluids, troubleshooting chemical challenges, and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and minimize operational issues. This hybrid role combines laboratory analysis with on-site operational support, contributing directly to the success of production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze crude oil, natural gas, and process water samples to assess quality and composition.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of production chemicals, such as corrosion inhibitors and demulsifiers.
- Troubleshoot production problems related to fluid properties and chemical treatments.
- Develop and implement sampling and testing protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, analysis results, and operational parameters.
- Collaborate with production engineers to address and resolve chemical-related challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical analysis or production chemistry role within the oil and gas industry .
- Proficiency in analytical techniques relevant to hydrocarbon and process fluid analysis.
- Strong understanding of scale, corrosion, and emulsion control in production environments.
- Excellent data interpretation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both laboratory and field settings.
