About the Role
Our client has an exciting opening for a Production Chemist to join their operational team in Belfast . This role focuses on ensuring the optimal chemical treatment and quality control of produced fluids from oil and gas wells. You will be responsible for monitoring chemical performance, diagnosing production chemistry issues, and implementing solutions to maximize efficiency and asset integrity. Collaborating with production engineers and field technicians, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth and profitable operations in the Oil & Gas industry . This position requires a blend of laboratory analysis and on-site problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production samples to monitor for scale, corrosion, and other chemical issues.
- Design, implement, and optimize chemical injection programs for production facilities.
- Evaluate the performance of production chemicals and recommend new or improved solutions.
- Troubleshoot chemical-related production problems and provide technical support to operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations pertaining to chemical handling and discharge.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, inventory, and performance data.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in production chemistry within the Oil & Gas industry is essential.
- Knowledge of scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, demulsifiers, and other production chemicals.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques relevant to oilfield water and crude oil analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
