About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Edinburgh . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained. You will work closely with the production team to troubleshoot issues, implement new technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Scottish manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Develop, implement, and document new production methods and equipment upgrades.
- Provide technical support to the production team, troubleshooting issues related to machinery and processes.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on the production floor.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain product standards and resolve quality issues.
- Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in new product introduction processes, ensuring manufacturability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a production engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis).
- Proficiency in CAD software and a good understanding of automation technologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
