About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join their innovative team in Cambridge . This role focuses on optimising manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production, and driving quality improvements. You will work closely with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues, implement process enhancements, and support the integration of new technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in manufacturing and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing significantly to the operational success of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve daily production operations to ensure efficiency and meet targets.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with design and R&D teams on new product introductions and process validation.
- Implement and maintain production standards and documentation, including SOPs.
- Monitor production equipment performance and recommend maintenance or upgrades as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production engineering or manufacturing engineering role.
- Proven experience in process optimisation and problem-solving within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of quality control systems and statistical process control (SPC).
- Good understanding of manufacturing equipment and automation technologies.
