Production Line Leader – Alconbury
Great opportunity to work as a Production Line Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.
Compensation and Working Hours
- Day shift: £14.50 per hour
- Overtime: £18.13 per hour (after 48 hours worked)
- Shift pattern: 4 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on, 4 days off – rotations typically from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday
- Hours of work: 6:30 am to 7:00 pm
- Flexibility is essential during peak periods such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas; night shifts may be required
- Role type: temporary‑to‑permanent with long‑term opportunities for successful candidates
Your Time at Work
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets and maintain high‑quality standards
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and customer specifications across all processes
- Deliver an efficient packing operation on a daily basis
- Oversee daily operations, manage production schedules, and promptly resolve any issues
- Provide training and ensure adherence to operational procedures and company policies
- Support manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement, ensuring all KPIs are met and work is within budgetary constraints
- Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the packaging area
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping of production data, waste, and returns
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or team management experience
- Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety protocols
- Experience in fresh produce, food production, or FMCG environments
- Strong leadership and decision‑making skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Consistent, reliable, and solution‑focused approach
- Behavioural safety training and experience with the Rubicon ERP system are advantageous
- Experience in lean manufacturing and working with UK retailers in a manufacturing environment is beneficial
- Flexible can‑do attitude, willing to work in other areas or undergo training as required
