Production Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Production Planner to join their manufacturing team in Oxford . This role is central to ensuring that production schedules are optimized to meet demand efficiently while managing resources effectively. You will be responsible for creating detailed production plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with various departments to resolve any scheduling conflicts. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet targets and overcome disruptions.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely material availability.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for schedule optimization.
• Prepare reports on production status, capacity utilization, and potential bottlenecks.
• Ensure effective communication of production plans across all relevant departments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar scheduling or planning role within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production planning principles, MRP systems, and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in planning software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
