Production Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Production Planner to join their manufacturing operations based in Wolverhampton . This role is central to ensuring that production schedules are optimized to meet customer demand, manage inventory levels, and maximize operational efficiency. You will work closely with various departments, including sales, production, and procurement, to create and maintain accurate production plans. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, considering material availability, machine capacity, and labor resources.
• Collaborate with the sales team to understand demand forecasts and customer order requirements.
• Work with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Monitor production progress against the plan, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improving scheduling efficiency and reducing lead times.
• Communicate production schedules and updates to relevant stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

• Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and capacity planning.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
