About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Production Planner to join their team in Plymouth . This critical role involves coordinating production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing lead times. You will work closely with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of materials and products through the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent planning and communication skills within the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on demand forecasts, order intake, and resource availability.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Liaise with the production floor to monitor progress, identify potential delays, and implement solutions.
- Communicate production schedules and updates to relevant stakeholders, including sales and management.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, optimize scheduling, and improve efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels of finished goods to meet customer requirements while minimizing holding costs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency in using planning software (e.g., ERP, MRP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments in Plymouth .
