About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Planner to join their team in Sheffield . This vital role involves coordinating and scheduling all production activities to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and timely order fulfillment. You will work closely with sales, procurement, and production departments to balance demand with capacity, optimize resource allocation, and minimize lead times. This position is perfect for an individual with strong organizational skills and a keen understanding of manufacturing workflows, who can contribute to smooth and effective production scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and available resources.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Liaise with the production floor to monitor progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize production plans to maximize machine utilization and minimize changeover times.
- Communicate production schedules and updates to relevant stakeholders across departments.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improving planning efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency in using production planning software (e.g., ERP systems, MRP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
