About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Team Leader to oversee daily operations at their manufacturing site in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for guiding and motivating a team of production operatives, ensuring targets are met safely and efficiently. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of output and quality. You will act as a key link between management and the shop floor, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of production staff, assigning tasks and ensuring performance targets are met.
- Monitor production workflow, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
- Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, provide feedback, and address concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records and report on team performance to management.
- Contribute to the training and development of team members to enhance skills and productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a manufacturing or production setting.
- Strong understanding of production processes and quality control standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation in a manufacturing context.
- Basic IT skills for reporting and record-keeping.
