Project Architect - Residential Developments

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Project Architect to lead high-quality residential development projects in and around Southampton . This senior role requires a strong understanding of the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept design and planning applications through to detailed construction information and site supervision. You will be responsible for managing project teams, client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of beautiful, functional, and compliant homes. This is an exciting opportunity to shape significant residential schemes and contribute to the growth of a respected architectural practice, working primarily from their well-appointed offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of residential projects from inception to completion.
• Manage client communication, consultant coordination, and contractor liaison throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and submit planning applications and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and contract administration.
• Oversee site works and provide technical support to construction teams to ensure quality and adherence to design intent.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the architectural team.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Architect with current registration.
• Significant experience leading residential architectural projects, demonstrating a strong design sensibility and technical acumen.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with experience in contract administration.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• A thorough understanding of UK planning policy and building regulations pertaining to residential development.
