Project Controls Manager

• As a Project Controls Manager, you will manage a project controls function on major infrastructure or construction programmes
• Reporting to a Senior Project Controls Manager or Preoject Controls Lead, you’ll be responsible for integrating cost, schedule, risk, change, and reporting processes to ensure successful project delivery
• This role requires strategic oversight, technical expertise, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams
• Performance Management:
• Establish and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB)
• Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) systems
• Collate and report KPIs related to time, cost, risk, change, and quality
• Governance & Reporting:
• Lead periodic and ad-hoc reporting cycles
• Ensure accuracy and robustness of monthly project review packs
• Provide interpretation of project health data to support decision-making
• Change & Risk Management:
• Develop and implement change control processes
• Facilitate change forums and expedite decisions as needed
• Integrate risk assessments into project controls
• Team Leadership:
• Assist in managing and mentoring a team of project controls professionals
• Set objectives, conduct appraisals, and provide feedback
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Liaise with senior leadership, clients, and supply chain partners
• Ensure alignment across planning, cost, and risk functions
• Support programme management with strategic insights

Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teamsStrong knowledge of cost, schedule, risk, and change managementProficiency in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, cost tools)Excellent communication and stakeholder managementAdaptable to fast-paced and complex project environmentsStrategic thinker with analytical skillsProfessional qualifications (e.g., APM, PMI, or similar) are highly desirableProven experience in project controls on large-scale infrastructure or construction projectsFamiliarity with NEC contracts and UK construction standardsPassionate about innovation and continuous improvement
