Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major, long-term construction programme in Europe, working on behalf of a specialist subcontractor. This is a senior, client-facing role with responsibility for overseeing multiple phases of a complex development within a live environment.
The successful candidate will act as the primary representative on site, providing leadership across technical delivery, programme management, and stakeholder engagement, while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and commercial performance.

The Role
The Project Director will take overall responsibility for project performance, representing the subcontractor at senior level and working closely with client representatives, main contractors, and delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes. The role requires a strategic mindset combined with strong operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the senior on-site representative for the subcontractor, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
Lead the end-to-end delivery across multiple project phases
Oversee programme strategy, key milestones, and execution plans
Ensure effective coordination across all workstreams and interfaces
Lead and manage project teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
Chair progress meetings, reporting forums, and coordination sessions
Drive health, safety, quality, and compliance standards
Identify and manage risks, constraints, and dependencies
Oversee commercial performance, reporting, and change management
Promote continuous improvement and best practice
Key Attributes & Experience:
Proven experience in a senior project leadership role within construction, ideally within a subcontractor environment
Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and delivery
Experience managing complex, multi-phase programmes in live environments
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong leadership and decision-making capability
Commercially aware with strong organisational skills
Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent)
Confident operating at a senior client interface level
