Project Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive Project Electrical Engineer to lead critical electrical infrastructure projects in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role demands a comprehensive understanding of project lifecycles, from initial planning and design through to execution and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical aspects of projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Working within a dedicated project management team, you will liaise with stakeholders, manage contractors, and oversee technical teams to achieve project objectives, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence in engineering delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
• Oversee electrical contractors and site personnel to ensure work is performed safely and to specification.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and progress monitoring throughout project phases.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Prepare project status reports and communicate key updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering .
• Proven track record (minimum 8 years) in project engineering or project management, specifically in electrical installations.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience in managing budgets and resources for large-scale engineering projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with power distribution systems and building services.
