About the Role
Our client, a leading automotive technology supplier, is looking for a meticulous Project Engineer to join their innovative team based in Coventry . This role is central to managing the development and implementation of advanced automotive systems from concept through to production. You will be responsible for coordinating project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet client specifications. Working within a fast-paced R&D environment, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, testing, and manufacturing, contributing to the future of automotive engineering and vehicle performance, supporting strategic objectives in a hub of UK automotive manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple automotive engineering projects simultaneously, overseeing timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal engineering departments (design, manufacturing, testing) and external suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
- Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, budget management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate project meetings , provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, and document all project activities.
- Ensure all engineering outputs comply with automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949) and customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle and implement effective solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer , ideally within the automotive sector.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and components, including powertrain, chassis, or electronics.
- Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
