About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Project Engineer specializing in Mechanical Systems to join their facility in Cardiff . This role is crucial for managing the entire lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initial planning and design to implementation and handover. You will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This on-site position requires close collaboration with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering a hands-on approach to project management and problem-solving within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Develop project plans, including scope, resources, and risk assessment for mechanical systems .
- Coordinate with design engineers, procurement, and site installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new mechanical installations or upgrades.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in project management within a mechanical engineering context.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
