Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage the technical and commercial execution of filtration and static/pressure equipment projects, from order through to fabrication, testing and handover. The successful candidate will act as the technical focal point across mechanical, piping, structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines, coordinating closely with clients, vendors and the company's in-house design and manufacturing teams to ensure projects are delivered on spec, on time and in full compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as project engineering focal point, coordinating Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation input throughout project execution.
- Manage technical communications between the client, vendors and fabrication contractors, ensuring queries are resolved promptly.
- Review mechanical calculations, drawings and vendor documentation to confirm compliance with project specifications and applicable codes (ASME Sec VIII, PD 5500, API 6D, API 600, ASME B31.3, etc.).
- Support engineering design reviews and 3D model reviews, resolving technical queries raised by design, procurement or manufacturing.
- Prepare technical requisitions and support equipment procurement, vendor evaluation and vendor document approval.
- Monitor vendor deliverables, document turnaround and overall project progress against schedule.
- Conduct fabrication shop inspections to confirm quality, code compliance and adherence to programme.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), manage design change control, and prepare project handover documentation.
- Liaise with clients on technical submissions, deviations and datasheet reviews, proposing alternative solutions where appropriate.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree (BSc/MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer within pressure equipment, static equipment or process/filtration equipment manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of pressure equipment design codes and standards (ASME Sec VIII, PD 5500, ASME Sec II, API 6D, API 600, ASME B16.34, ASME B31.3).
- Comfortable reviewing mechanical calculations, GA/fabrication drawings and vendor technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project delivery (mechanical, piping, structural, E&I) and managing vendor/client communications.
- Familiarity with procurement, vendor evaluation and technical requisition processes.
- Experience supporting fabrication shop inspections, FAT and project handover documentation.
- Background in oil & gas, petrochemical, power/nuclear or water industries is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders under project timelines.
