Technical Project Manager

The role

We are seeking a highly organised and technically minded Project Manager with deep Jira expertise to support the delivery and portfolio of embedded software and engineering projects.

The role will act as the central point for project governance, delivery reporting and portfolio visibility across multiple engineering workstreams. Using Jira as the primary delivery tool, you will provide oversight of epics, stories, dependencies, risks and progress, ensuring stakeholders have a clear and accurate view of project status.

Working closely with Technical Leads, Engineering Managers and programme stakeholders, you will take ownership of the project management and reporting activities that currently divert engineering leaders from their core technical responsibilities. You will help drive consistency, structure and transparency across delivery teams while providing portfolio-level insights to senior leadership

Responsibilities

æOwn and coordinate project plans across hardware, firmware and mechanical engineering teams.

æ Act as the Jira subject matter expert across engineering teams, promoting best practice and consistency.

æ Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, reports and portfolio-level delivery metrics.

æ Analyse epics, stories, sprint progress and delivery trends to provide actionable insights.

æ Identify delivery risks, blockers and dependencies across multiple engineering programmes.

æ Support Agile delivery practices, sprint planning, backlog management and delivery ceremonies where required.

æ Provide portfolio-level reporting and executive summaries to senior stakeholders.

æ Drive continuous improvement of project governance, delivery reporting and engineering planning processes.

æ Work with Technical Leads to reduce administrative overhead and enable greater focus on engineering leadership and technical decision-making

Skills & Experience:

æ Significant experience as a Technical Project Manager, Technical Programme Manager, Delivery Manager or Scrum Master within a software or engineering environment.

æ Advanced Jira expertise, including dashboards, reporting, workflows, backlog management, epics and story structuring.

æ Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and Scrum practices.

æ Experience supporting embedded software, firmware, electronics or product engineering teams.

æ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret delivery data and communicate meaningful insights.

æ Experience providing portfolio or programme-level reporting to senior stakeholders.

æ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

æ Jira administration or configuration experience.

æ Familiarity with Confluence and engineering portfolio tooling.

æ Experience within embedded systems, electronics, safety-critical or regulated engineering environments.

æ Experience supporting multiple engineering teams simultaneously.
