Job Title: Project Manager — 14 Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover - Immediate Start)Location: Fortress Interlocks, Wolverhampton (WV4 6FB) — Hybrid, 3 days per week in officeSalary: £50,000–£55,000 per annumContract Type: Fixed-Term (14 months), must be commutable to WolverhamptonTeam: PMO, reporting to the Lead Project ManagerAbout the opportunity Fortress Safety is looking for a Project Manager to join our PMO on a business-critical 14-month maternity cover assignment. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of strategic projects — applying structured planning, sound decision-making and strong stakeholder engagement to deliver on time, in scope and on budget, all while supporting Fortress's continued growth.What you'll be doingShaping project direction through strategic thinking, aligning initiatives with Fortress's wider business goals and PMO strategyLeading and delivering multiple projects simultaneously, defining scope, goals and deliverables with all stakeholdersProactively solving problems and making timely decisions to keep projects on trackBuilding and managing strong relationships across the business, with distributors and with customersCommunicating and influencing confidently at all levels, translating complex project detail into clear updatesPlanning and prioritising competing project demands, managing resources, risks and timelinesChampioning continuous improvement, refining and following our New Product Development processMotivating and influencing cross-functional teams to deliver results, even without formal authorityWhat you'll bringProven project management experience, ideally within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong strategic thinking, connecting individual projects to wider business objectivesExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, comfortable navigating ambiguity under time pressureSkilled stakeholder management, building trusted relationships at all levelsStrong communication and influencing skills across diverse teams and senior stakeholdersEffective planning and prioritisation across multiple concurrent projectsA continuous improvement mindset, always seeking smarter ways of workingUniversity degree or equivalent experience gained on the jobMust have the right to work in the UK (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship)Nice to haveFormal project management certification, e.g. PRINCE2, APM or Agile/ScrumExperience with project management software/tools, e.g. MS Project, SmartsheetExperience in a regulated or safety-critical engineering sectorWhat we offer25 days holiday per year plus bank holidaysPension — employer contribution up to 10.5%Company bonus schemeAirport parking discountsEyecare supportCycle to work schemeAnnual Halma share vesting schemeLong service recognitionLife assurance coverInclusion & belonging At Fortress, we don't just accept difference — we celebrate it.
