About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Mechanical Engineer to manage and execute mechanical engineering projects within their innovative company based in Edinburgh . This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to implementation and final handover, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. This is a key role for an ambitious engineer looking to take on greater responsibility and lead impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and deadlines.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and site personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies effectively.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Prepare regular project reports, including progress updates, financial status, and technical reviews for management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project engineering or project management within a mechanical engineering context.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and project execution methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and CAD tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
