Project Quantity Surveyor - General Main Contractor (Mainly Residential and Education) - Syon Lane
Salary/Package: £60,000 - £75,000 + Package or £275 - £325 per day (Outside IR35) but flexible for the right person
O'Neill & Brennan are currently working with a well-established, privately owned main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Syon Lane.
The business delivers a varied portfolio of education and residential refurbishment, extension and new build projects, typically ranging up to £5m in value, across West London and the surrounding areas. With multiple live projects running concurrently, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys managing several schemes at once and taking full ownership of the commercial process from procurement through to final account.
You’ll be joining a close-knit and supportive team where you have genuine autonomy, working directly with senior management while playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities
- Taking full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of refurbishment, extension and new build projects from procurement through to final account
- Preparing subcontract enquiries, analysing tenders, negotiating terms and making recommendations for award
- Managing subcontractor valuations, payments, variations and final accounts
- Producing CVRs, cost reporting, forecasts and monthly commercial reports across multiple live projects
- Working closely with operational teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities while maintaining robust cost control throughout each project's lifecycle
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and the wider supply chain
Requirements
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
- Previous experience delivering refurbishment, extension or new build projects
- Comfortable managing the commercial delivery of multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle, from procurement to final account
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Able and willing to commute to Syon Lane and travel to projects across the surrounding area
