Public Affairs Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and politically astute Public Affairs Advisor to join their team in Leeds . This role focuses on managing the company's engagement with government bodies, policymakers, and key stakeholders to advocate for favorable policy environments. You will be responsible for monitoring legislative developments, developing policy positions, and building relationships to advance the company's interests within the UK political landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze relevant legislation, policy changes, and political developments affecting the company.
• Develop and articulate the company's policy positions and recommendations to government and regulatory bodies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with parliamentarians, civil servants, and industry stakeholders.
• Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and consultation responses on behalf of the company.
• Organize and facilitate meetings, roundtables, and events with key political and stakeholder groups.
• Advise senior management on public affairs strategies and potential political risks and opportunities in Leeds and beyond.

Requirements

• Significant experience in public affairs, government relations, or political consultancy.
• In-depth understanding of the UK political system and legislative processes.
• Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive arguments.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with policy issues relevant to the company's sector.
• Bachelor's degree in Politics, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
