About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and influential Public Affairs Manager to join their team in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This role is responsible for managing our client's engagement with government bodies, policymakers, and stakeholders, shaping public perception and influencing policy development. You will develop and implement effective public affairs strategies, monitor legislative changes, and advocate for our client's interests. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the political and regulatory landscape, contributing to impactful work within the media and PR sector, supported by a flexible hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive public affairs strategies to support organizational objectives.
Monitor government policy, legislation, and regulatory changes impacting the industry.
Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, government officials, and industry influencers.
Represent the organization in relevant forums, committees, and industry associations.
Prepare position papers, policy briefs, and advocacy materials.
Advise senior management on public affairs issues and potential risks.

Requirements

Proven experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related policy role.
Strong understanding of the UK political and legislative processes.
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience working within a hybrid or office-based environment.
