About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and politically astute Public Affairs Officer to join their team in Belfast . This role is integral to shaping and managing the organisation's engagement with government bodies, policymakers, and key stakeholders across Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for monitoring legislative developments, building relationships, and advocating for the organisation's interests through effective communication and strategic influence. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of the political landscape to contribute to shaping public policy and advancing organisational goals in a hybrid working model that offers flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor political and legislative developments relevant to the organisation.
- Develop and implement public affairs strategies to influence policy and public opinion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, elected representatives, and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare briefings, position papers, and policy recommendations for senior management.
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry events, consultations, and meetings.
- Support the development of corporate social responsibility initiatives and public engagement campaigns.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy development.
- Strong understanding of the political and legislative environment in Northern Ireland .
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in developing persuasive arguments and influencing decision-makers.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing tasks both remotely and from the office.
