About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Public Affairs Officer to join their expanding Media & PR department in Cardiff . In this vital role, you will be instrumental in shaping public perception and influencing policy by managing communications with government bodies, stakeholders, and the public. You will develop and execute strategies that promote the company's interests and manage its reputation within Wales and the wider UK. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement public affairs strategies to engage with government officials and policymakers.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the organization.
• Prepare policy briefings, position papers, and advocacy materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry associations, and community leaders.
• Represent the organization at relevant public forums and industry events.
• Coordinate responses to public inquiries and media requests related to policy matters.

Requirements

• Experience in public affairs, government relations, policy analysis, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the political and legislative landscape in the UK , with specific knowledge of Welsh affairs.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful advocacy campaigns.
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a relevant field.
