Public Relations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and creative Public Relations Specialist to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . In this role, you will be responsible for executing PR campaigns, supporting media outreach, and contributing to the overall communication strategy. You will work closely with the PR Manager to identify opportunities, draft compelling content, and manage social media channels to amplify brand messaging. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of PR campaigns across various media channels.
• Draft and edit press releases, articles, social media posts, and other communication materials.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends, reporting key insights.
• Support the management of social media accounts and online community engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships with local media contacts and influencers.
• Coordinate and provide logistical support for press events and media briefings.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in public relations, marketing communications, or journalism.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and social media platforms.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
