Purchaser / Technical & Purchasing Executive, Singapore

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive Purchaser to support procurement and technical operations for a fleet of container vessels.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of spares, stores, and services, supporting vessel readiness, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, RFQs, vendor selection, and purchase order processing
• Coordinate delivery of spares, stores, and services to vessels globally in a timely and cost-efficient manner
• Liaise closely with vessels, superintendents, and operations teams on procurement requirements
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct price comparisons and negotiations to ensure value and quality
• Track and manage logistics arrangements (air/sea/land transport) for vessel supplies
• Verify invoices against quotations and ensure timely processing within credit terms
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, reports, and vessel expenses
• Support technical teams on dry docking, repairs, and off-land servicing coordination
• Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and maritime standards
• Maintain proper documentation of vessel certificates, records, and technical data

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marine procurement / ship management
• Familiarity with operations, Class/Flag requirements, and shipboard processes
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and global supply chain logistics
• Proficient in MS Office and procurement / fleet systems (e.g., Danaos or similar)
• Good negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
