About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and organized Purchasing Administrator to support their procurement operations in Manchester . This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth functioning of the purchasing department by providing essential administrative and clerical support. You will be responsible for managing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining accurate purchasing records, ensuring that all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions and generate accurate purchase orders in the company's ERP system.
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery dates, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain and update the supplier database, ensuring all contact information and contract details are current.
- Assist in the preparation of procurement reports and performance analyses.
- Handle general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and responding to internal queries regarding orders.
- Support the procurement team in ad-hoc projects and administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a purchasing or procurement department.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in managing documentation and data.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with suppliers and internal staff.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
