As a Purchasing Assistant, you will benefit from:

Structured onboarding and ongoing training in procurement systems and processes Support to work towards a recognised procurement qualification such as CIPS A stable, well-organised working environment with clear processes to follow Exposure to a broad commodity area, building genuine specialist knowledge over time As a Purchasing Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Schedule incoming materials against forecast demand to maintain continuity of supply Generate and issue purchase orders to nominated suppliers within your commodity area Manage supplier non-conformances alongside Quality and Technical teams, negotiating costs where required Expedite outstanding orders and flag supplier delays that could affect production Maintain accurate procurement and supply records within the ERP/MRP system Investigate supplier price discrepancies and obtain credit notes where necessary As a Purchasing Assistant, your experience will include:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including formula creation and checking Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, ideally including Oracle Experience liaising with suppliers and building effective working relationships Strong office administration and organisational skills An interest in building a career in procurement within a manufacturing environment Willingness to work towards a qualification such as CIPS If you're looking for a role where your accuracy and reliability are genuinely valued, this Purchasing Assistant position offers a clear path to build real procurement expertise.
