About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee their procurement operations in Leeds . This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required by the organization. You will be responsible for leading a small team, developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and managing key supplier relationships to support business objectives. This is an on-site position requiring a strong presence within the purchasing department and close collaboration with various business units in West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals, focusing on value and risk mitigation.
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Monitor market trends and identify potential cost-saving opportunities or supply chain disruptions.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
Proven ability in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
Strong understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
