About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and efficient Purchasing Officer to support their procurement activities in Leeds . This role is integral to the smooth operation of the supply chain, ensuring that necessary goods and services are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing tasks, processing orders, maintaining supplier records, and liaising with internal departments and external vendors. This position offers a great opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail and strong administrative skills to contribute to a vital business function, blending office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Source suppliers, obtain quotes, and negotiate favourable prices for goods and services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of suppliers, pricing, and order history.
- Monitor order status and expedite deliveries as necessary to meet project timelines.
- Liaise with accounts payable to resolve invoicing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Assist in the management of inventory levels and support stocktaking activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role.
- Familiarity with purchasing procedures and supply chain concepts.
- Proficient in using purchasing software or ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to multitask and manage workload in a dynamic environment.
