Job Description
Overview
You will support Manchester operations, to ensure all legislative issues concerning Health, Safety, Fire and EvacuationProcedures, Welfare at Work, Quality, Food Safety and Management of environment are integrated into the operational practices across the UK network. You will support the implementation of effective management systems to support risk management and controlling continuous improvement of QHSE performance. You will ensure the unit and its assets are always safe and secure whilst ensuring compliance to planned plant and equipment service and maintenance schedules.

Based at: Newrest, Manchester
Pay: Circa £38,000
Role And Responsibilities
- Interpret the requirements of ISO Standards toassist with the design and development of the quality and compliance managementsystems processes.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, Food Safetyand Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System.These requirements must be implemented and maintained in all existing and newsites.
- Plan and maintain the annual internal auditschedule, logs and monitors nonconformities and corrective actions andperform/review corrective action effectiveness and verification
- Deal with local authorities EHO, DEFRA etc when onsite ensuring the unit is compliant
- Prepare the site for Customer audits and visitsensure any non-conformities are dealt with in a time manner.
- Work alongside the UK security Manager to ensurethe unit is compliant on CAA. requirements and that internal securityaudits are completed as per schedule and results communicated to the unitManager.
- Plan, conduct and audit Fire Drills and co-ordinateperiodic checks with local Fire Services including Fire Marshall training.
- Plan and execute internal risk-based auditsin-keeping with aspects defined by risk managers, including HACCP, QMS and HSE.
- Review audit findings, finalise conclusions andreport results for management review.
- Provide early warning to senior management onmatters requiring regulatory escalation
- Perform gap analysis and define training content.
- Develop atraining plan and update training materials for internal training on foodhygiene, for Health and Safety induction, for HACCP, Quality and Environmentcompliance.
- Produce QHSE compliance reports for Managementreview, adhere to monthly schedule of Food Safety, Quality and H&S ensuringall tasks completed on a timely manner,
- Respond to food safety customer complaints throughthough investigations including completing root cause analysis
- Lead investigations in case of food poisoning orother illness/injury of staff,
- Collect on a monthly basis data on work relatedabsences, measure accidents rates and ensure all corrective actions are inplace.
- Contribute to the development and implementation ofcriteria for supplier’s selection and audit.
- Conduct research to improve processes and informpolicy and/procedure changes.
- Communicate and share the quality strategy to key stakeholders.
- Any other duties as requested by your line manager.

Knowledge And Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in QHSEmanagement and food safety.
- Experience in catering and or hospitality desirable.
- Ability to travel across the UK.
- Proven experience and ability to manage people,processes, and technology whilst managing operational, organisational andfinancial elements.
- Good business acumen, including written and verbalcommunication skills and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success managing new initiatives whilemeeting operating and budgetary requirements.
- Strategic thinker and strong analytical skills.
