Job Description
I am recruiting on behalf of a global business who specialise in comprehensive electronic manufacturing services, from design and prototyping through to PCB assembly and full box builds.
The Role
They are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to provide an effective and robust quality function across their St Neots site.
You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement in quality and standards, supporting our ISO systems and ensuring products and processes consistently meet customer and business requirements.
As Quality Engineer, you will:
* Act as the first point of contact for the shop floor on product quality issues, including mechanical fit, process quality and electronic component specification.
* Investigate quality issues and ensure rapid containment, followed by effective long-term corrective action.
* Analyse production data and develop, report and improve key quality metrics.
* Provide technical quality support to engineering and production teams.
* Communicate and coordinate quality information with internal and external customers.
* Complete FAIRs to specified customer requirements.
* Work closely with suppliers to ensure purchased goods meet required quality standards.
* Manage customer, supplier and internal quality concerns using 8D corrective action reports.
* Carry out internal and external audits.
* Contribute quality requirements and considerations during engineering design reviews.
* Compile regular quality reports for the Quality Manager and relevant stakeholders.
* Support the development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance and control systems, standards, methods and procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* HNC level education or solid experience within an electronics manufacturing organisation.
* A strong understanding of process design and development, including PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.
* Strong IT skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
* The ability to communicate effectively with engineering, production, suppliers and customers.
* A proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Experience within the Aerospace, Medical or Automotive industries would be desirable.
