Quality Engineer

Location: Cambridge, CB4 Job Type: Permanent Hours: Core hours 8am-4pm (37.5 hours/week) Mon-Fri, flexibility offered Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience Job Reference: 36307

Polytec are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Cambridge based client. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving product and process quality within a high-technology manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using recognised quality tools
• Analyse quality data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Support new product introduction, validation and process improvement activities
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to improve product quality and reliability
• Support the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with ISO 9001
• Support internal audits and manage actions arising from findings
• Investigate internal, supplier and customer quality issues
• Monitor quality KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement
• Promote quality best practice across the business

Requirements

• Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related qualification, or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, RCA/RCCA and FMEA
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable

• Internal Auditor qualification
• Experience with ISO 27001, RoHS, REACH or SCIP
• Experience within electronics, telecommunications, optical or other high-technology manufacturing
• Knowledge of Minitab or JMP
• Understanding of manufacturing process controls and validation
